Need Help Getting Started with Research?

Need Help Getting Started with Research?Himmelfarb Librarians have created two videos, in conjunction with the SMHS Faculty Development Office, to help faculty with aspects of the research process: How to Work with a Librarian and Literature Reviews and Conceptual Frames

How to Work with a Librarian provides concise information on how to arrange a meeting with a librarian, what to do to prepare for the consultation, what to bring with you to the meeting, and what kind of assistance librarians can offer.

Literature Reviews and Conceptual Frames describes both a literature review and a conceptual frame, reviews the importance of conceptual frames for defining the research question, outlines the steps of a literature review and creating a search strategy, and includes an example.

Both videos are freely available on the Himmelfarb Library’s tutorials website, the Himmelfarb Library YouTube channel, and the SMHS Faculty Development Office's website .
